C. Jeanenne Bell, G.G. has over 30 years of experience in all phases of the antique jewelry business.  She is an avid collector and an active wholesaler and retailer.

The author’s early training in interior design and architectural history made her acutely aware of the part jewelry has played in reflecting the architectural and period styles throughout history.  She has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Great Britain, Europe and Asia, collecting and researching the history of jewelry and evaluating its geographical trends.

Ms. Bell earned her Graduate Gemologist designate from the Gemological Society of America. In 1984, she wrote one of the first appraisal study guides in the country about antique jewelry. It was written for Indiana University and the International Society of Appraisers.  She has written numerous magazine articles and has been a guest lecturer for organizations throughout the country.  She also wrote “The A-B-C’s of Insured Jewelry Replacement”, which is accredited by the State of Kansas.  She is founder and President of Jewelry Box Antiques, Inc., in Kansas City, Missouri.

Antique jewelry has opened many exciting doors for Ms. Bell. In 1986, she attended the “Duchess of Windsor” auction in Geneva, Switzerland and wrote a cover story about the experience for “Modern Jeweler”. In 1989, Ms. Bell served as jewelry consultant for the movie “Mr. & Mrs. Bridge”, starring Joanne Woodard and Paul Newman. She was chosen as the jewelry consultant for the movie “Kansas City” directed by Robert Altman and starring Miranda Richardson and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

In November 1993, Ms. Bell premiered her own lines of revival jewelry. She has appeared on national television selling them.
